WORKSHOP WITH JOEL BRIANT ON MAY 14

Dear students of Didactics and TEFL

 

Joel Bryant, a Fulbright scholar and TEFL specialist visits our department on May 14.

Students of Didactics and TEFL are going to have a compulsory workshop between 12:35 – 14:00.

 

Using ChatGPT to Develop Targeted Speaking Skills
Participants will learn how to effectively use ChatGPT to enhance speaking skills, understanding both its benefits and limitations. The workshop provides practical guidance on steering ChatGPT to meet specific educational objectives, and presents a variety of activities and materials developed using ChatGPT.

 

Joel Bryant is an English Language Fellow at the G.S. Rakovski Military Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he assists officers in improving their conversational skills and preparing for standardized NATO language examinations. He also hosts a series of workshops in Legal English for members of the Sofia Bar Association.
Before relocating to Bulgaria, Joel worked in Tbilisi, Istanbul, Krakow, and Taipei. His earlier career included roles as an attorney and a federal investigator. His professional interests include standardized testing, English for Specific and Academic Purposes, phonetics, and application of AI in TEFL.
Joel holds a BA in classical languages from Brandeis University, a juris doctor (laws), and a LL.M. in tax law from the Golden Gate University School of Law. He is originally from Los Angeles, California.
