on Tuesday 20.3.2018 at 17:10-18:40 in AP1S9 and Wednesday 21.3.2018 at 13:30-15:00 in AP1P2, prof. Anna Scannavini from the University of L'Aquila, Italy, will give 2 lectures on a selected topic from American literature.
The lectures are compulsory for all students enrolled in the course of Selected chapters from Am lit. and Gender and literature - Am lit.

""Preface to the first edition (1826)" and "Introduction to the 1831 edition"; chapters 1 to 4 and then chapters 32 and 33. It is recommended that you read a rather detailed summary of the story, such as Cliff Notes.
You also need to bring the following chapters to the class (in print): chapters 6 to 8 and chapters 28 to 30. You do not need to read those.
